Historic First Joint UCM–CWA Executive Committee Meeting Charts New Direction for Ministry, Naga Evangelical Church, Naga City
NAGA CITY — Demonstrating a renewed commitment to collaborative ministry and servant leadership, the South Luzon Jurisdiction (SLJ) of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) successfully conducted its First Joint Executive Committee (ExeCom) Meeting of the Christian Women's Association (CWA) and the United Church Men (UCM) on July 22–24, 2026, at the Naga Evangelical Church, Naga City.
The historic gathering officially launched the ministries of the newly elected officers for Ecclesiastical Year (EY) 2026–2030, bringing together leaders from the nine conferences of the South Luzon Jurisdiction for worship, fellowship, organizational planning, and strategic ministry development.
The Executive Committee Meeting was graciously presided over by Bishop Lusito Saliendra, Bishop Assigned to the South Luzon Jurisdiction, who inspired the delegates with a pastoral message emphasizing that leadership is a sacred calling rooted in Christ's example of humble service.
"Our ministries become stronger when we walk together in faith, serve together in love, and proclaim together the transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ."
Bishop Saliendra encouraged both organizations to deepen their partnership in strengthening local congregations, nurturing Christian discipleship, promoting stewardship, and expanding the Church's mission throughout the jurisdiction.

The meeting was likewise attended by the chairpersons of the UCM Committees on Christian Education and Nurture, Church and Society, Research and Development, Christian Worship and Spirituality, Evangelism and Church Development, Finance, Music Ministry, and other ministry committees.
Setting the Direction for the Next Four Years, guided by out theme: Walking with JESUS: Journeying with the Anawim.
Throughout the three-day Executive Committee Meeting, participants devoted themselves to worship, Bible reflection, committee orientation, organizational planning, and the formulation of ministry priorities for the 2026–2030 quadrennium.

The officers also expressed their collective commitment to work collaboratively in advancing the mission of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines through unified leadership and active partnership between the CWA and UCM.
Moving Forward Together
The Executive Committee Meeting concluded with Holy Communion, prayers of commitment, and a renewed covenant among the officers to faithfully serve God and His Church.
With hearts united in faith and service, both organizations pledged to strengthen their ministries in every conference and local church, empowering women and men to become effective disciples and servant leaders in building God's Kingdom.
